The Bulloch County Alcohol and Drug Council is a non-profit organization, mandated by
the Bulloch County Grand Jury and chartered by the Secretary of State on June 28th,
1974.
The council's 12 members are appointed by Statesboro and Bulloch County from a cross
section of the community. Serving without pay, the council acts as an advisory board
to discourage the abuse of alcohol and drugs, to educate toward prevention of abuse,
and to assist in providing treatment and rehabilitation for those suffering from
addiction.
To fulfill this mission, the council sponsors a "kaleidoscope" of projects:
- Conducting School and community education programs
- Offering literature and films as educational resources
- Providing referrals for treatment
Among the programs sponsored or supported by the council are the Alcohol Prevention
Initiative, The Red Ribbon Campaign, PRIME For Life, Bulloch County's PRIDE Team,
Student Intervention Programs, Georgia Southern University Student Community Agency,
Local Funding Opportunities,TIPS Programs, and a Georgia Southern University-Ogeechee
Technical College scholarship.
